Today, in our lesson with Tony, we were working on our BBC News Article, my original idea was to talk about the new Joker Movie being released, but apparently it had already been done, i then thought of some other ideas, some included "is Spider Man better with Disney?" "The new Batman Movie" and "Has the MCU changed Superhero Movies?" but in the end, I decided to talk about the new Suicide Squad film being directed by James Gunn, I talked about Gunn being fired by Disney and also about the cast of the movie, I also mentioned how the Joker and Batman won't be in the movie, Joker won't be in the film due to the backlash Jared Leto's portrayal received in the 2016 film.


Later on, we were split into groups of three, we were partnered with people we didn't know well, this was to help us get to know other people in the group. the other 2 article ideas were "Is the BBC Not Relevant to Teens?" and "Life on the Road 2019, does life on tour affect musicians" this would most likely go under the Entertainment and Arts banner on the BBC News Website

here's my news Story

"James Gunn’s Suicide Squad film has been surrounded in mystery for some time now, but it seems this mystery is being solved. Gunn, who directed “Guardians of the Galaxy” and “Guardians of the Galaxy Vol.2” was hired by DC to write and direct a relaunch of the failed 2016 DC Superheroes film after being fired by Disney due to a series of controversial Tweets from 2011. The Film is reportedly set to release in 2021, the same year Matt Reeves’ Batman Movie is released. Gunn of course was later reinstated due to Disney not being able to find a replacement director and due to heavy fan backlash. During the period when Gunn was fired, Warner Bros approached Gunn and asked if he would like to direct Suicide Squad 2, which at that point was still a sequel to the 2016 film and not a reboot as Gunn has now announced

Gunn recently took to his official Instagram page to post the official cast list for the movie.

In a caption, Gunn said “don’t get too attached.”

The cast includes returning actors from the 2016 film, Margot Robbie, who is playing Harley Quinn, Robbie appears as Quinn in 2020’s “Bird of Prey and the fabulous Emancipation of One Harley Quinn” Jai Courtney will be  playing Digger Harkness, aka Captain Boomerang, Joel Kinnaman is playing Rick Flag and Viola Davis plays Amanda Waller.

Among the new Cast are Guardians of the Galaxy Actors Michael Rooker and Sean Gunn, who is James Gunn’s brother also among the cast is former Doctor Who Star Peter Capaldi, who recently teased that his character is Bald and requires Facial Prosthetics, which has led to some speculation that Capaldi will be portraying long-time Batman villain Mr Freeze, “Thor: Ragnarok” Director Taika Watiti has also been cast in the film, other notable actors in the movie are David Dastmalchain from 2015’s “Ant-Man,” Former WWE Star John Cena, Mayling Ng, Storm Reid, who will be playing the daughter of Idris Elba’s Character, Joaquin Cosio, Nathan Fillion, Flula Borg, Juan Diego Botto, Pete Davidson, Alice Braga, Steve Agee who is portraying King Shark, Tinashe Kajese, Daniela Melchoir, Julio Ruiz and Jennifer Holland. Gunn as also stated that the film is an official reboot not a sequel and will not include Deadshot, Joker (which is probably for the best) and no cameo from Robert Pattinson’s Batman, Ben Affleck’s Batman appeared in a Flashback Scene in the 2016 film.

Idris Elba was initially rumoured to be playing Deadshot, but now he’s rumoured to play a different role, some suggest he is playing Slade Wilson aka Deathstroke who was a former soldier that was the subject of a failed medical experiment.

Will this reboot be a success with Gunn behind it, or will it be another Bad Movie to add to DC’s Track Record?"
